Women of Wisdom

5 Week Series:  April 22 (Earth Day) – May 20

“The world will be saved by the Western woman”

His Holiness, the Dalai Lama

This is a first time offering of what is surely to become a tradition here at SPT. This five class series will celebrate, honor and teach wise ways of healing for and about women. In that deep and long ago place that resides in every female there is a knowing that our bodies are the journey for balance, beauty, vision and finding that ecstatic sense that is our birthright. This class will be as inspirational as practical. Classes may be taken as a series or individually but all participants need to attend the first class. The focus will be on care for women as versus how to harvest and make preparations. For classes on that material please see the six week course.

Women of Wisdom - April 22

The first hour of this class will be an exploration of Archetypal roles of women and what they mean to us in our health and daily lives. The second hour will be a clear and brilliant description of our endocrine system as it relates to women’s hormones. This class will set the stage for the following four.

Moon Time - April 29

This class will focus on our menses, our moon cycle. The definition of menses is monthly flow. We will look at the physiology of our flow and the energetic systems that govern the health and balance of our hormonal states.
We will look at ‘normal’ and see how there are healthy variations and also ways to help with issues with our cycles. Ayurvedic and Chinese language give us grounded ways to simply nourish and move our feminine. This class welcome teens and mother of teens who what to help their daughter, nieces or community realize the wisdom of women.

Full Moon - May 6

This class will look at fertility, pregnancy and birth as a basic right that needs to be understood by all cultures. The culture with which we welcome our children speaks volumes to the consciousness of our care system. We will share birth stories and talk about herbs to support a healthy pregnancy, nursing plant allies and post partum care.

Wee Moon - May 13

Herbs for children with simple, yummy, nourishing recipes and care for our children. We will look at colds, flu, ear aches, first aid and a variety of time tested boo boo salves and oils. This is the only hands on aspect of this course where we will make syrups.

Grand Moon - May 20

We will complete the circle with a study of the peri, menopausal and the years into cronehood. We are going to redefine the wise woman years and place the crone in her 70s and 80s and allow the matriarch or amazon her rightful place as governess of her own life. We will look at health issues for these years and how to go naturally into the freest times of a woman’s life. Wonderful practical information of herbs, supplements and foods is the basis of this class.

Cost: $20/class or $90 for the series. To reserve a place/class please full amount is required. To reserve a space for the series a deposit of $25.00 is required.
